About Me and My Class
Hi, I'm a P.B.L. student. P.B.L. stands for project-based learning. I will get more into that in the next paragraph though. My favorite animal is a fox, and I have six pet bunnies. I also have a dog named Maddie. My favorite activities are cooking, dancing, and swimming. I'm also really interested in the Ice Age and marine biology. I enjoy marine biology because of its unknowns and I want to be the one to figure them out.
Let me take a minute to explain P.B.L. P.B.L is an instructional strategy involving the teacher presenting students with a question that they must research to find the answer to. It is authentic learning because students are solving real-life problems. It is student-centered learning. Learning is more engaging and meaningful for students because they are responsible for creating their own knowledge. P.B.L. leads to higher achievement, deeper understanding, increased intrinsic motivation, and less behavior problems. If you are a teacher, I strongly encourage you to do P.B.L. Students learn self-efficacy, self-control, social skills, goal setting, and how to be lifelong, independent learners. You are looking at a project right now that I've done --a website.
